Here's stage three of dragon!Ironhide. The final part will likely take me the longest (if I'm even able to pull it off) because my paint program (or is it my slow computer? or both?) gives me trouble when I start using too many layers. Hopefully when I'm done with the background, I'll be able to justify the(what I feel are) strong shadow/highlights I used.
This involved a bit of experimentation,s o some of it might be shaky. If you notice something I missed, feel free to point it out.
This looks great! The shading and highlighting really give you a nice sense of musculature. (I fear doing that. Think I'll stick to robots. ) So, wonderful job so far.
The only thing that leaps out at me is that his head looks a little flat because there's no texture on it while the rest of his body is highly textured. His forelegs also look a little less detailed, probably because they don't have as much shading/highlighting as the rest. I think that his right foreleg needs a bit of highlight to match the highlight on his neck, maybe? Something like that. But then, once you have a background in, this might all be moot.
Thank you. ^^ I think robots present their own difficulties in the form of shine on metal, which is why I'm going to do some more practice with organic forms.... or stick with cell-shading with the TFs....
Thank you for the crit too! I see what you mean, now (hindsight= 20/20 and all ) and I agree with your suggestions. Already, I'm planning on what to do with it.
Yeeessss.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
The Cutting Edge is a weekly article that features brand new selected high quality art products that caught our eyes. Check out the cutting edge prints some of your fellow artists have submitted in the past week!
